How to create bootable usb to repair or install grub loader

I need to create a bootable usb drive so I can repair or reinstall the grub loader. Directions for both would be appreciated

What flavor of Linux are you using?

Chances are that you could do this with the very same disk that you used to install linux from. Does this have to be done from usb?

if you are using ubuntu or mint go to
System---Administration---Startup Disk Creator

You can create a bootable usb very easily.
