How to create a second virtual disk for Linux VM

using ubuntu and vmware want to create a second virtual disk for ubuntu and , format it to NTFS.

how do i do this?

Go to Edit settings for the VM, go to Hardware, click on Add+ at the bottom and select Harddisk. Once the disk is created using the wizard, you should be able to format it inside the VM. I assume your VM client is Windows of some sort, in which case the new disk ought to show up under Computer at which point you can select it and format it to NTFS.
