how to create a partition for swapping data between win2000pro and red hat 9.0?
 
Hi there!!!!
Newbie needs help...

I`ve got win2000pro allready installed on my desktop and would like to install redhat9.0, but how do i create a partition for swapping data between both???(format,and so on??)

uhh..in ur case...all i kno abt it...was ...linux use different file systems like ext 2,3...for windows it uses ntfs fat32..as all i kno u cannot do swappin drive in ur computer or if u have another computer that has windows...u can make file sharing with that computer by ur red hat 9.0 usin samba.

You can access a windows partition from Linux, or a linux partition from windows. For example, you should search for things like "ntfs linux" or "ext2 windows" to find the necessary software for accessing a given filesystem from a given OS.

Do you have any free space on your drive? If not you will need to resize your existing W2K partition.

linux can read / write FAT32 partitions. Use W2K diskmanager to create a FAT32 partition and then format it.

Then install RH on the remaining free space. I suggest using expert mode or whatever RH calls it to make sure you don't overwrite W2K.

RH has install instructions on its website.
