How to convince a Windows user

My mate at work (20 yr old) )(I'm 70!!) cannot be convinced about Linux, just loves his W10 because it was free - and he's an IT Apprentice along with a being a big Steams user, and watching sports, Football, NFL and so on.

I need to convince him - this might help on the Steams front https://store.steampowered.com/
What else can I use to convince him?

Convince him of what exactly? If he is happy with windows why try and force a change? Personally, I love using Linux but not everyone is interested and some folks have software they require that just won't work easily in Linux if at all.

Best thing in my opinion would be to show him your setup and why you like it. I have three sons, 2 use Linux but one is a gamer and could care less and only wants his games to work.

I find it is never worth it to try to sell someone. There are people who's brain seems to be wired for an OS almost. If he likes windows then let him be. The best you can do is show him linux once.

As others have already asked, why do you need to convince him?

I've heard it said that there are none so blind as those who do not want to see, nor those so deaf as those who don't want to hear.

As such, my money would go on you are wasting your time trying.

As the old saying goes, “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still”

If you do try to convince him, please read my blog about things to keep in mind. Of course you know Linux better than I do. However please try to place yourself in the newbie's shoes: https://techphylosopher.blogspot.com...-to-linux.html
