How to connect to the internet with ubuntu linux?

Now I just install the ubuntu linux on my laptop. But I didn't found the dial up
program on this distro. It can use the internet through lan only. How can I
used the dial up serial modem with this distro? Could you please help me?

I have just intalled Ubuntu but till now can't connect the internet.
