How to connect my broadband with Ubuntu?
 
I have a broadband connection. I use Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC (device manager->network adapters). How do i start internet on Ubuntu? Plz help!

Do you use a modem, router....
Is your network card recognized?
If you use a modem, take a look at raspppoe

Hey its for PPPoe modems.. i dont think it will help. My modem is not connected with the phone.. I have a local connection just a wired one.

If you have a regular modem, then it connects to the phone line and connects by calling a phone #. There are also:
cable modem
DSL modem

Please clarify exactly what you have. Also, have you looked at the internet connection settings in Ubuntu?
