How to connect/link/mount drives/directories

Dear all,

I have mandrake 9.1 installed on my dell computer.

I also regularly telnet in (FreeBSD 4.6)

I would like to know if it is possible to connect/link/mount my freebsd drive/workspace with mandrake so that it appears as a local drive when i connect to m-net. This is enable me to copy/move files between the two drives.

I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Best regards,

Anand K.

I don't have much experience in this area, but I think that you can use automount for this job. Automount is used for similar situations, where you need to mount nfs file system just when you access them.

mount -t ufs /dev/hda8 /mnt must be the command to mount BSD to /mnt.
See for more information.
edit-the tdlp doc says it is 'mount -t ufs -o ufstype=44bsd /dev/hda8 /mnt' for newer kernels.I have never used bsd.
