You should put the name of your distro in your user profile. Many distro's have a wizard to help set up a samba server. Also, look for a samba-doc package. There may be a book supplied called "Samba 3 by Example" that has several sample configurations you can base yours on.

I you also know very little about how networks work, look in the www.tldp.org website for the Network Administrator's Guide (nag).

Samba book

The O'Reilly site has a book on Samba which is available online:

http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/samba/chapter/book/

Setting up a Samba server is not complicated, but you have to spend some time to learn it by reading related documentation if you want to do it by hand.

Recent distributions usually have GUI tools to setup a Samba share and add printers without knowing anything at all from the technical aspects. On Fedora this is done at System > Administration > Samba. If using another distro, check the documentation.

Hope this helps,

It is always a good idea to write the Linux Distro you are using when ask question.
go to this website http://www.howtoforge.net and look for your Linux Operating system.
they have step by step tutorial about samba and a lot more.
such until to find a similar tutorial for the configuration that you want.

welcome to Linux and Enjoy.
