How to Configure X server (RedHat 7.2)

Does anybone know how to configure x server (change resolution to 800x600) without usin Xconfigurator. My problem is that I am running Linux RedHat on Virtual PC 5. There is some difficulaties in using Xconfigurator there. If you would know how to change resolution using Graphical User Inrerface -- I would really appreciate.
