For some time I have been using Clonezilla to backup/restore linux installatinos.
I would like - instead to USB-key that is allways not to be found, to somehow "move" the clonezilla (on a USB stick).
What I have tryed to is to make a seperate partition to install this on, copyed all the files on the USB -key to that partition, and then make a new entry in GRUB via yast. Then I point to the new wmlinus and initramfs.
I would have been much surpriced if something link this was working after first shot. But it was also not working after the 80. shot.
Thank you for these answers, they certainly pointed me in the right direction. But it was a bit more complicated than that.
To work properly, Clonezilla needs a lot of parameters passed to the kernel. I found this, that in the end proved to work: http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live/livehd.php - just in case others want to try the same.
Just remember, when you install clonezilla on a harddisk, you can not make a disk-to-image backup of that harddisk.
