How to configure freeradius to enable MAC addresses

Hello everyone,
I am a new member of linuxquestions.org. I've been trying to setup a wifi-hotspot server using ubuntu and did manage to make it working. But there is only one problem I can't solve is to enable certain MAC address to have direct access to the Internet without seeing the login screen.

Please help if you have any idea.

Regards
Hoang

Hi,

Welcome to LQ!

You have to look into the /etc/freeradius/users file and configure accordingly with a single valid mac address.

Then after that you can test using radtest command.

Code:

# radtest <mac_address>
here mac_address will be without colon(:).

Hi, thank for your reply. I did manage to enable MAC address before receiving your reply, but not the easy way you've highlighted.

Now there is another more serious problem. Easyhotspot is only working for the network cards, but not for wireless network card. When I've tested with wireless connection, it calculated wrong online time and behave very funny, which is not happened by using network cable.

Do you have any idea for this problem?

Hoang

There would be some time settings there for Easyhotspot, checkout those settings.

I managed to connect 1 wireless client (laptop), but that the only one, other clients can not login. It's really funny how the easyhotspot server behave.
