how to configure apmd?

Hey, I installed apmd, but I don't know how to configure it, the man isn't very clear and I can't find anything on the net. All I want it to do is spindown my hard drives after an amount of idle time. Can anybody tell me how to enable this with ampd? (I took a look at noflushd but I use reiserfs)
