how to configure a LAN server based on ubuntu?
 

Hi,
Here i am trying to configure a LAN server in my LAB.The server based on ubuntu(eduubntu).The clients pcs may be in Windows,ubuntu..Now my job is to set the connection between those client pcs with host pc.I have to configure all the features mailing,proxy server,wev server and so on.What to do for configuring such a system?And also send me some links where i can get exclusives help....

Rather than doing it all manually with Ubuntu, there are Distros that cater toward that sort of configuration..

Just a suggestion.

If nothing else you can look at what components these distros use to accomplish certain tasks, to help guide your own build.
