How to configure a Backpack CDrom
 

Hi, sorry if I'm covering old ground but I am new to linux (ubuntu) and this site.

The problem is that I have a Backpack Bantam CDrom with a parallel lead that I want to use in linux. Thats it. I don't know if its already working and I just don't know where to look for it, or if it needs some work, or even if its possible on my version of ubuntu.

Any thoguht would be great... regards, John.

After posting my question I found an article saying I should use 'insmod paride' and other commands, but when I run that command, I get

"insmod: can't read 'paride': No such file or directory"

Does this men I need some more software/drivers to get it working?
