how to compile opengl programs

i have my graphics course starting and i reallly cant figure out how to compile and run OpenGl programs on my REDhat 9 linux m/c.if anyone has any experience in it plz help me out .

OpenGL heim . The best thing to do is to get Glut. Glut is window independent library. As you know, to start openGL, you've to create a window first, like in ordinary windows programming. More or less like

< all you need to do to initialize the window >

OpenGL stuff goes here <

< update that window >

With Glut you skip that part of creating windows (which are OS dependent) and concentrate directly into OpenGL.

The very best to do is to get a good book about it, like OpenGL's Redbook. Otherwise you will be stuck with bad commented (yet working) tutorials from the net as nehe's...

yeah thnx for that link but i wanted to know how do i get some programs running there some already present support for it in rh9 or do i have to download some rpms etc.they say that the mesa library is already present
