How to close Half-open connections

Hi Guys,

One of our servers encountered a power failure which caused Half-open connections on the host it connected to before down.

HOST-A:PORT-A <-> HOST-B:PORT-B

HOST-A sudden-down without proper close the connection above, the connection on HOST-B still in ESTABLISH status.

So my question is how to close this connection on HOST-B since HOST-A is now suffering connection failure when using PORT-A to connect HOST-B:PORT-B.

Thanks in advance.

you need to know which app is using that port. Probably you can fix that app to detect connection lost and react on it, but probably you need to kill that app and restart.
And probably we need to know more to give better help...

I solved this by opening keep-alive. Thank you @pan64
