how to check the RAM size from desktop
Hi ! Linux User
In Window, I can check the RAM size by going to setting -> control panel-> system then uder general tab it indicate the RAM size. How can I do this in LINUX REDHAT 7.2 ? Question How can I check the RAM size from RED Hat 7.2 Desktop ? Is there any similar area like window or is there any command that I can use to check my existing RAM size and type ? thanks for your help x2000koh |
You can go to xterm and run "top" or "free" to check how much RAM you have and how much you are using.

gkrellm can also be used to monitor a whole bunch of things, like hdd usage and RAM / Swap usage, cpu and so forth ... well worth a look
KSim also does this, but doesn't look as nice (personal taste anyway) and ksysguard looks sorta close to the windows look (turn on the statusbar) |
