how to check the RAM size from desktop
 
Hi ! Linux User
In Window, I can check the RAM size by going to setting -> control panel-> system then uder general tab it indicate the RAM size. How can I do this in LINUX REDHAT 7.2 ?

Question
How can I check the RAM size from RED Hat 7.2 Desktop ? Is there any similar area like window or is there any command that I can use to check my existing RAM size and type ?

You can go to xterm and run "top" or "free" to check how much RAM you have and how much you are using.

gkrellm can also be used to monitor a whole bunch of things, like hdd usage and RAM / Swap usage, cpu and so forth ... well worth a look

KSim also does this, but doesn't look as nice (personal taste anyway)

and ksysguard looks sorta close to the windows look (turn on the statusbar)

the simplest way.... use system monitor....
