How to check internet bandwidth

1) Is there a command to check my internet bandwidth through the terminal? or through GUI?

2) I'm connected to a LAN with 4 other pc. Is there a command I can type in the terminal to know the other 4 pc's IP address....?

The second one is not always possible (especially if you are on a switched network). You can always see the kernel's arp table somehow. Depending on what distribution, the command `arpd -l' will dump the contents to stdout. This is all the information you can possibly get.
