how to check 11g & 12c oracle error messages ?

Hi,

How do we check if oracle created any error messages upon shutdown or start up ?
Where are they kept ?

Thanks

After six years here, you should already know to have done basic research on your own, before posting a question, and to have read the "Question Guidelines" link.

Putting "where are oracle logs stored in linux" into Google pulls up lots...amazingly, the first hit is from the Oracle website:
https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18440_01...s.htm#OPCRG170

But, since Oracle is a commercial, PAY FOR PRODUCT, by using it you have support, right??? You can configure things to go anywhere you'd like, so the better question is: where did YOU set the logs to go?
