how to change boot order


hi,

I want to change my defualt OS to windows since thats what i use more..and I dont know how to edit the grub.conf file

can someone tell me how to do this? and how do I remove old kernels?

To edit grub, type the following from a command prompt

emacs /boot/grub/grub.conf

and change the order and/or the default setting in there.
I strongly suggest keeping the old entries (comment them out) as a backup in case you mess something up.

In the grub cfg file, you might see a 'default' line which determines which os goes first. If not, the first paragraph goes first. Rearrange the os paragraphs so windows comes first to make it default. To remove old kernels, remove or comment out (with a '#') their paragraphs.
Remember that to save your changes you should be root.
