How to burn FC2 into CD ?
Halo....i am new to linux and i had downloaded fedora core 2 from the link below:
http://download.stmc.edu.hk/fedora/...ore/2/i386/iso/ Is that I need to burn image into CD for the 4 parts of fedora core 2 i downloaded ?? Because I got read it about that i have to burn into image, but i am not sure which image files should i choose from the fedora i downloaded. Please drop your message here if you know about it . Thanks!! |
Fedora core 2 is old I think 5 is the newest. you should be downloading .iso files (1 per disk these are disk images.) then use something like nero to burn it to a cd as an image not a cd with the .iso file on it.

1) FC2 is getting old now - the latest Fedora release is Fedora core 5. I suggest downloading this instead, unless you have a specific need for FC2.
2) You have to download the four iso files, and burn each to a CD. What CD burning program are you using? On K3B, you click Tools - Burn CD image. When you have burnt each one, you should see a set of directories on each CD, no a single file. Nero in Windows is similar. Don't forget to check the SHA1SUM of each ISO before you burn it, do make sure it has downloaded correctly. I hope this helps --Ian |
halo...may i know how to check SHA1SUM ? I did not found it inside the downloaded iso files.
