how to browse files from command promt

Hi,
I need to execute some files in linux but I don't know how to go there.

How do I go to a specifc directory on a cdrom? assuming the cdrom is already mounted.

Thanks.

In a terminal / command prompt type:

"su" <press return> then type your root password.

Type "cd /mnt/cdrom" which will change you from your current directory to the cdrom.
"ls" will give you a list of the files and folder on the cdrom.

su = switch user (probably need root access to execute files from the cd)
cd = change directory
ls = list files & folders in current directory ("ls -a" lists hidden files as well)

Pressing <tab> will autocomplete entries at the command line.

for more info on any command type "man <command name>" (man = manual)

The "cd" command changes directories:
Right now you're in the home dir (~)
~$cd /
Now your in the / dir
$
$cd /mnt/cdrom
Now your in the /mnt/cdrom dir
/mnt/cdrom$
The "ls" command shows you what's on in the dir:
/mnt/cdrom$ls
cddir/ cdfile
/mnt/cdrom$cd cddir
/mnt/cdrom/cddir$ls
cdexe
This runs a program:
/mnt/cdrom/cddir$cdexe
