How to boot local disk from bootable USB (USB installation source)

Hi Guys,

I can boot the USB media with syslinux v4.02.
I want to have one menu option to boot to local harddrive.

I have tried below option, it does not work.

Quote:

label local
menu label Boot from ^local drive
localboot 0xffff
Quote:

label local2
menu label Boot from ^local drive
localboot -1
could you please help.

If the local drive is formatted and bootable, why not remove the USB and allow the boot sequence to pickup the local drive?

Because I use the USB as RHEL installation source. If I do nothing while I'm at syslinux menu, the default option is to boot from local drive instead of starting the installer.

That's the reason. Do you have any suggestion ? Thank you.

Open the quick boot menu and select hard disk there, now it will boot from hard disk.

To open boot menu, either you have to press f10/f11 or esc, it depends on your BIOS settings.
Check there for the key and it will list all attached bootable devices, now you can select your desired option.
