i want to copy a movie of mine onto a blank dvd. In the past, i would use makemkv and bombono. Worked great. But bombono is gone. Now i've tried dvdstyler (it did indeed eventually burn the movie but in four parts with these .vob files. And it froze my screen.) so i tried dedeve. It burned an iso and an .mpg. So i got brasero and burned the iso. It burned the same four .vob files onto the dvd.
Thanks pmv. I'm not familiar with opensuse.org. Think it's safe to download from? This looks great but I'm wary. Plus everybody seems to be saying bombono free is no longer available anywhere.
So you just designed this? Wow. Thanks. I'm on a Windows computer now, but I will try it soon. Is there a preferred way (safer?) to install it? The (attachment) install manually or the binary?

Gregg Bell, do you feel confident to do it manually? If so, do it. If not, just grab the binaries.
It's not a question of security since both are precompiled afaics. Compiled on OpenSuse's Open Build Service. Whether that's safe enough for you, only you can decide. I'd trust it in most cases.

Thanks ondoho. I researched OpenSuse and it looks totally safe. I got the Bombono.
I chose the 2-nd possibility (Grab binary packages directly)
From the directory you have downloaded it to you have to execute:
Code:
sudo apt install ./bombono-dvd_1.2.4-1_amd64.deb
Thanks pmv. I got it doing exactly what you said. I was a little leery because after I made the
Code:
sudo apt install ./bombono-dvd_1.2.4-1_amd64.deb
command there was this notice
Code:
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
and there were all these things listed, including one that said
Code:
calibre-bin
and then:
Code:
Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them.
Anyway, I did the
Code:
Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them.
I checked the applications menu and Bombono was there! And I figured I'd check Calibre just to make sure that wasn't goofed up. Well, rather than Calibre opening, the Calibre installation wizard came up. I checked to see if my Calibre folder was still on the computer (it was--and all my Calibre files), and by then the regular Calibre came up. So it looks like it's going to be okay.
Thanks a ton for doing all this. It was SO VERY NICE OF YOU.
