How to add additional users to Slackware?

Hello. I've got 13.0 up and running, but I have no idea how to add another user so I don't have to login as root. I need an account that's basically just root without the official name.

I know it's got to be simple, but I'm just not finding it. :(

Thanks in advance.

Assuming you chose kde and again assuming kde4 is like kde3,,,,
start menu, system, kuser.
If 13 boots to the black screen like in the past, which it probably does you can edit inittab to boot to the graphic login screen.

Use the command
Code:

adduser
and then follow the prompts.

I don't want to be logged in as root (isn't that like a huge no-no for security reasons?), and I know that sudo is available if I need to meddle with rooty things.

adduser worked perfectly. Thanks!

Yes, it is a serious risk; but it pends on the capabilities
of the account, not the name.
