Smile how to access internet using a usb type device like photon plus in linux

how to access INTERNET using a usb type device like TATA photon plus or MTS in Linux(ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04)??????

Looks like there's good support for that.


It looks like it should automatically be picked up, but you need to get into the network properties from the icon on your desktop panel. I found a bunch of references on a quick search. I looked at one at and it's maybe a half dozen mouse clicks. I searched “TATA photon plus Ubuntu”.

Hello Naveen ,

You can use the WVDIAL utility to connect your USB dongle to internet .
Else as you have mentioned , New Mobile Broadband Connection wizard will open automatically when you connect the device.
Just follow the wizard and provide necessary details like apn address , dialing no , etc , and you will be connected .
