How to access CVS with linux/UNIX username and password?

I installed CVS on my server (OS:CentOS) yesterday. I added cvs users and passwords file. I can login using username and password newly created, but I cannot login using UNIX username and password. My Boss want to login using UNIX usernames and passwords, not by adding them into cvs users and password file. I don't know how to make it that way. Please help me.

Sorry, I'm new in computer, I thought the username and password asked everytime we turn on the computer called windows username and password. My Boss said, by default, we can login cvs using these usernames and passwords. He doesn't like adding these username & passwd into the username & passwd file. Thanks for helping.
