Wink How switch from Kde to Gnome....thsi could be better thread name


sorry for this for most of you stupid questions,how can i switch from Kde to Gnome......

...or why when i run Firestarter it says that i have to be a Root user.That's funny because i'm the Root user and only one user.

Where i'm wrong this time?

Sorry i'm using Linux about 3 days

i'm sure you've been told this before, but why don't you have a user account? you should never use root unless you absolutely have to.

anyway, you should be able to switch from kde to gnome at your login screen (see where it says 'session' and click there and you should have options)

as for the root permissions, maybe try doing what you're doing in the terminal instead, perhaps the gui thinks you are a user only

realistically, you should be using user mode in gui and just get root priveleges in the terminal when needed

if you're not using a graphical login, then
you can edit your /root/.xinitrc file
to either startkde or gnome-session

I was trying to change from Gnome to KDE.... I have no freaking idea how I did it, but I did. WOW this stuff is more fun than swimming naked with three fat women. wooohooo
