Hello,

Are you talking about trying to recover your bootloader, or your actual system? If it is your system, I recommend using the live disc version of your OS, as you can't really do much within grub to restore your primary OS.

We need more information

Did you install grub alone in its own partition?

Did you try and install a distro?

If distro installed use that cd to repair your grub.

You might try 'update-grub' command
