Thumbs up How linux external hdd booting on compq 621 laptop ??

Dear sir
i have compq 621 laptop having ati radeon grafic i have also external hard disk of linux operating system

i am unable to boot that hdd on this laptop only. i install linux base drivers of ati radeon graphics from net but i dont know how to install or run

please help me
