Wine makes no distinction, that I know of, between Win95 and Win98. What program are you trying to install? What error messages do you get when you try to install it?

Killah 09-17-2003 10:53 AM

most of the programs like real one player

whan it want to install:

windows 98 or higher is required

Killah 09-17-2003 10:54 AM

the error comes up in a dialog box

Killah 09-17-2003 10:58 AM

and when i'm trying to install office thir error message comes up:::

fixme:msi:MsiEnableLogA 00000516 "X:\\Office 2000 SR-1 Professional Setup (0016)_MsiExec.txt" 0
fixme:msi:MsiSetInternalUI 00000005 (nil)
fixme:msi:MsiInstallProductW L"Z:\\home\\killah\\.wine\\c\\office\\data1.msi" L" "

Well, RealPlayer is available for Linux. I'm not sure what the difference is between that and RealOne.

I'm not at all sure about the error you're getting with Office. I've heard it's pretty hard to get MS Office to work in Wine. There is Crossover Office which is designed to get MS Office running in Linux, but unless you desperately and specifically need Microsoft Office, I'd suggest using a Linux-native office suite like OpenOffice (which is almost completely compatible with MS Office), KOffice, etc.

It may also depend greatly on what version of Wine you are using. Do you have any idea what version it is? (type 'wine --version' in a terminal window to find out.) More recent versions are probably likely to work better.
