How does an emulated OSX run with Linux?

I want apple but I really dont want to buy an ibook/macbook/powerbook/appleANYbook/PC

I just want to use OSX, and I can get OSX. I wonder if anyone else has used an emulated version of OSX and liked it.

I suppose it works with (some version of) VMware, but is it worth it? I mean Macs are the operating system combined to the hardware. I doubt if OS X would feel as good without the white (or any other colour) shiny Apples, and if you have cash to buy OS X (you are not trying to pirate it, right?) you should be able to buy a cheapish laptop. Apple's cheapest machines don't cost that much and are pretty cool anyway; if you want bigger screen, buy an external and so on.

VMware is my best guess for what might run OS X under Linux, but it's not going to work nicely if you don't have machine power. I'd just stick with original Apple machines, as they are what OS X is meant to be run on.
