How do you update the fedora core kernel?
I have installed fedora core 3 kernel 2.6.9-1.667 but it does not pick up some hardware, i thought i should try and upgrade the kernel...how do i do this?

There is a 2.6.10 kernel available. Just execute "yum update" as root.

Sorry how do you do that exactly...sorry im very new......i tried typing yum update them kernel-2.6.9-1.667.src.rpm and i get this message
setting update process
setting up repo: base
cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base

do as root
1.) yum check-update
you receive a list of updated packages.
2.) yum update kernelxxxxxxxx

to install/update a .rpm use:
rpm -ihv rpmname #for install
rpm -Uhv rpmname #for update

I just use apt/synaptic or up2date to install new kernels.
