How Do You Turn Your Linux System Into An Installable Live CD

I'd like to know what programs are need to be installed on my system
to turn my system into an installable live cd with all the already
installed programs and my programs I wrote, the modified kernel,
desktop backgrounds, program files, ect. I'd like to know how to use
the programs needed to do this, is mkisofs and genisofs one of the programs?
Can someone please help me with my question, this is my first post here
I'd appreciate it very much.

If your running Debian Lenny you can use Remastersys backup
which will make a livecd

I remade remastersys scripts and such so that it make a iso that
can go onto usb with Unetbootin or by just copying mounted iso to usb
taht already has syslinux installed

the livecd
is installable to HDD via remastersys-installer

I know a few tricks to reducing the iso size
and some other stuff too
so if you use remastersys I'll offer the tips
