Question How do you turn an executable into a shell script?

I just installed "john the ripper" and "john" is the executable.... nothing happens when I click on it so I'm wondering if there is some way to turn the executable into a .sh to run in the cmd line?

It is an executable to be run from the command-line.
All you need is to give it a parameter or two ;} rather
than clicking on it!

Read the man-page for more details ...
