How do you start KDE from X?


*points to topic*

I have my default window manager set to Gnome but I wanna get to KDE now for KDevelop which is unacessable from the new Gnome version. They don't have the KDE menu anymore *cries*

in your ~/.home directory should be a file called .xinitrc
you need to edit this..........

or you could edit the one is /etc/X11/xinitrc/
or you could just type ..........xwmconfig
this should bring up a menu for you to choose from.............

Yeah, using "xwmconfig" in Slackware will let you change the default.

Also, you might want to go to Actions > Run Application in Gnome, and type "kdevelop". I bet it'll load up then.

Hi dears
When i give the command Xterm in terminal , it goes to the bash 2.5 prompt.How i go to back root prompt .Can anyone help me.

It's not very good etiquette to hijack a thread. That aside, you looking for the su command. Do this:

[scuzzy@localhost scuzzy]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost scuzzy]#
Notice I'm now root. There ya go
