How do you run vnc

I installed VNC on Mandrake 9.1 using mandrake's easy install package feature. It was tightvnc server. When I run it and connect to it, I just see the wallpaper of my desktop and nothing else. A previous time when I installed VNC manually with rpm -i shell command, I could connect to my desktop but only saw a white screen with a cursor that I could put commands into. I put in "konqueror" in it and pressed enter, but it gave me an error saying that something was missing (some library file or soemthing)

Also I want an alarm clock for Mandrake Linux that sounds mp3, and has a snooze feature also. (Klock doesnt have this)

Also I want to be able to minimize certain programs to the system tray.

Your help will be greately appreciated LINUX GURUS!!!

Sorry for the double posting but I also want to know how to work the third mouse button click just like as in windows. (in windows it brings up a small "scroll circle" and you just have to move your mouse relative to the circle to scroll)

use the thread for VNC.
they are very good!

i had it going but dont use it since i didn't like the way it managed the gnome-desktop.

i'm two wweeks new to linux but.

"This means VNC is working, but your Window Manager is having an issue starting as mentioned in the FAQ (http://www.realvnc.com/faq.html#grey).

but i suggest goign to the thread from the tightvnc site..
