how do you play wmvs?

i have totem xine. but it doesnt play WMVs(not new ones at least).

also, Flash movies dont have sound. can someone help me with my issues?

go here go to downloads and download the essential codec package.

change to root and type the following in an xterm/console:

tar xvfj essential-2004xxx.tar.bz2 (this will extract the tarball into a essential-2004xx directory)

mkdir /usr/lib/win32

cp essential-2004xxx/* /usr/lib/win32

restart totem

that didnt work

well, it downloaded. but your commands didnt work.

EDIT:i got it working. had to tweek the first command line.
