How do you open Wine?

I'm using Fedora core 2 and I'm a complete newbie to Linux. I finally got Wine installed (I think) but I'm not sure how to open it. I'm using Gnome and I also want to know how to put programs into the menus because it's getting annoying to open a series of folders every time I need to open Firefox.

With a bottle-opener ... j/k

You don't "open wine", you open some windows
application using wine. That is, if you want to
run notepad, you open a terminal and type:

wine notepad
or if you try to run some installation

wine /path/to/cd/and/exe
