Question How do you make icons for KDE task bar?


I just downloaded and installed netscape and it's got these .xpm icons... I'd like to put an icon on the taskbar... how do you od this in KDE? thx

You can drag & drop, or right-click on the taskbar and select "Add" "Application button" and then the application you actually want down there.

or u can even browse to choose an icon from a big list there

These are just .xpm files. not yet actually icons... i need to know how to put them in the menu as icons and not files and then assign a execution to them... under KDE... I can do this on windowmaker easy... I just don't know how in KDE.

In windowmaker you can changr a blank icon to whatever .xpm file you want it and then assign the program path as the executable... I'm guessing the same can be done with KDE... i just don't know how...

Yes, it can...........right click the taskbar, select add>special button>NON-kde application
this will bring up the system tree so you can point to what you want

then right click on the new button select properties and you will be able to change its Icon.......ta da
