You the website. Wine Is Not an Emulator because it's a compatibility layer. It does not emulate windows, it provides a way for programs' windows calls to be translated to linux.

Just replying to the guys who thought WINE is a windows emulator, WINE is clearly not a windows emulator it creates a windows similar platform on you Linux box but as stated on WINE is not an emulator.
