How do you go about making packages for Vector Linux and other distributions?
I'd like to make a Vector Linux package for a few programs that are freely available in source format, as well as possibly making package files for my own software. Question is, what is envolved in doing this (a faq or tutorial would be nice!) and once the package files are created, what would be envolved in getting them on a major distribution site such that the slapt-get command would automatically download and install them on other computers without having to hunt for the main website, etc. (just to make it simple for the new user....
