How do you get Ardour to work in Suse Personal 9.1?

I have downloaded and, according ot Yast, have installed and satisfied all dependencies for Ardour. When I execute Ardour, it tries to load (spinning icon at the bottom of the desktop), but then fails. I use a Soundblaster Audigy soundcard and I have the Jack Kit installed and working o.k. Any ideas to help get Ardour working? All other sound plays o.k. I got rid of krecord, because it could never find my microphone.
