How do you change the splash screen in Medis 6.5.02

For some reason the splash screen displays at 1024x768 70Mhz which makes it all distorted. Corrects itself when the desktop boots at 60Mhz. Thought changing the splash screen might fix the problem. Thanks.

better still get rid of it?

edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst so that it reads like this

kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda2 nomce vga=791

without the word quiet....ignore my /dev/ entry yours will differ

Don't quite understand your command. My linux install is on ext3. Thanks.

sorry its not a command.....go into
/boot/grub/menu.lst and look at your various title groupings
each title for linux will have a line that starts with
kernel

that is what I am referring to.

ignore this post if you still do not understand.
