Talking How do you address a folder in another path

While installing a program...

Enter path to install directory.

I want to go to /usr/newdir

I've been through man (everywhere but where I should (obviously)).

The way I read this, the program install script is prompting you for the pathname of the directory where it will install. You would simply enter the full path. Generally, the directory you specify would have to already exist. If not, you would have to create it using "mkdir" before running the installer.
