How Do We Know What Our Claws Mail Address is?

I cannot figure out what my email address is in Claws mail.

When I set it up it made my username from my linux install my username for the account, which I did not want.

I gave my computer name for the address, or seemed to, which I also did not want.

I changed this when setting up the claws account. but claws is still showing my linux install username.

at the top of the claws screen it shows this:

[linux username]@pop.[computer name].

I put this address in when i registered for this LQ account but the email never arrived, so i am thinking this is not the email address.

several other attempts I made were rejected by the LQ registration page.

I tried [new claws email username]@claws-mail.org. But this did not work.

I have never worked with pop, smtp accounts so I don't know how to configure them.

I would like to know where to find my claws mail address.

You will need an email account on a publicly available server somewhere (such as your ISP or gmail or such).
Put that address along with the relevant account details and server address into Clawsmail so it can handle that account for you.

Your ISP will have assigned you an email address. You launch Claws and click on Configure - Create account. You need to enter information about your internet connection and email service, all of which your ISP provides:
> user name and password, as used to connect to the internet
> your email address
> addresses of the servers to which outgoing mail should be sent and from which incoming mail should be retrieved.

You can find out more about Claws -- how to use, available plugins, creating filtering rules to sort incoming mail, etc -- from
http://www.claws-mail.org/
