Smile how do servers manage client in linux


In windows we have active directory, what is used in linux to manage clients. If it were to make domains and forests in linux to linux clients, how can i do it?

You can use NIS and OpenLDAP for that...

Any particular rpm for centOS

Should i look for any particular RPM in CentOS to get it working?

You need ypbind (NIS client) and ypserv (NIS server) packages... And more information about OpenLDAP server can be found on its website http://www.openldap.org/
