Exclamation How do I write an effective Cron Script?

I'd like to access a page for syncronization of two tables in MySQL using a link similar to "mysite.com/administrator/index2.php?option=component1&task=syncUsers"

I know how to set the CRON Tab, but I'm not sure how to write the script so that it will run this specific link at the specified times, dates, etc. There is also a matter of login for general Browser usage of this script, and I need to know if the server will be able to perform this script without the login, or should I script a login function, too?

I don't care if it's PHP or Perl, but I need to be able to create this function to build table 1 into table 2 at continuous rate throughout the day.

Thanks for helping a newbie...

Wolf.

well cron is completely irrelevant to the job you actually want to do... you just want to read the wget or curl manpages to see how to grab a url from a console. once done just run that one liner via a cron entry.

Where would I find WGET or CURL? Thanks for the info, too.
