How do I use java applets?


Does anyone know how to download java applett so i can play on the yahoo.

Play on the Yahoo?? Is that like playing on the guitar? Or maybe playing on the grass......
As you can see, we need a bit more detail before we can be helpful.

It would help to know what distro you are using. There might be an *easier* option (i.e. apt-get). Other than that you would download it directly from sun.

Just follow their instructions. After it installs, you may have to add a symbolic link in the plugin directory of your browser to point to the plug-in itself. I believe thats also explained on the above page.

yahoo download

I am sorry if i was not explaining it right I would like to play games on the yahoo site, i had it before i got my computed rebooted, and am running windows xp professional now. I cannot get in any of the games that yahoo offers. I tried to download the java applett but no success. Please help me find the link,,,,,,janet

do you have java installed? if so try

cd to your Mozilla Firefox plugins directory
ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_06/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so ./libjavaplugin_oji.so

use tab to make sure you are using the correct directories/files though

Goto sun Java's web site and download it for linux and run it in the Terminal to install
