Hi,

I am using PClinixOs. And i would like to unrar a password protected multi volumed Rar file located on a external hard drive. It is rather large (hence the multivolumes) so copying it to home is not possible (where i have managed to unrar things before).

But i am typing into my root terminal.

unrar e -p NameOFfile.rar

I am getting asked twice for the rar file password. But then it is saying

"Can no open"
"no files to extract".

i am guessing it is because it is on my external USB hard drive that is causing this. So what would i do to unrar this file.

Is the external device large enough to hold the files extracted? Try this:

unrar -p <password> file.rar /home/Anthony1uk

make usre everything is still there too

unrar v file.rar

it's a multi volumed rar file. can you send us the ilst of the files. please use 'ls -l'. and perhaps i can also ask the output of 'df -h'
